The Oklahoma Kayak Anglers will be hosting its 2nd trail series event at Lone Chimney, Hominy, and Pawnee Lakes in Northern Oklahoma on April 4th. Originally this event was planned for Lone Chimney Lake only, but in accordance with social distancing and the prospective amount of anglers that may signup; the OKA decided to add Hominy and Pawnee Lakes. This will be a road runner event which means anglers may launch from any public boat ramp. Anglers may also began fishing one lake and trailer to anyone of these 3 lakes. This will be the first time the OKA has visited Lone Chimney, Hominy, and Pawnee Lakes in 7 seasons of hosting kayak tournaments. Angler of the Year points and Newcomer of the Year points will be earned, and as always the top 10% of anglers will be getting paid along with the Big Bass side pot.
Lone Chimney sits 30 minutes from Stillwater, 51 minutes from Tulsa, and 1.5 hours from Oklahoma City. Lone Chimney lake is a lowland reservoir with stained water and standing timber and most banks have grass and wood structure. Lone Chimney does offer camping near the boat ramp. An excerpt from travelok.com states: "Lake Lone Chimney has everything anglers want in a bass lake... Stocked Florida and Oklahoma largemouth bass, the Lone Chimney fish population makes this a popular destination for a big catch." As some may know the lake can be tough to get to with old dirt roads and a very small boat ramp. However, this lake has the potential for a giant bass to be measured during tournament hours.
