As late summer gently changes to Fall and kayak tournament trail seasons across the country draw to a close the Fall tournament postseason heats up. While leafs change many anglers trade their fishing rods for the cozy confines of the indoors or the secluded deer stand. However, there are many options for that derby fix beginning this September and running through early December. Below will be a list of available tournaments, dates, times, and notes. Keep in mind with the crazy times this information is subject to change.  King of the Hill Classic: Open tournament for anglers to compete against anglers from other regional trails. The trail with the highest 3 placers wins the traveling trophy. By: Tom Hins In 2015 I discovered the world of Oklahoma Kayak Anglers.  I quickly made friends with members like Brent Wilson, Danny Bowen, Avery Metcalf, Jonathan Queen and other individuals. Having been a person who fished for table fare I hardly fished for bass before this. It has been a learning curve for me. The first year of tournaments I do not think I even submitted one scorable fish, but I was hooked on the competition aspect of these tourneys.  After that first season over the winter I watched more bass fishing shows and videos on the internet about bass fishing where my wife would walk by and say oh let me guess another fishing show.  The next year I started to catch some bass and started to feel I was at least respectable turning in scorable bass. In 2019 I finally cashed in a tournament with a 3 rd  place finish. OKA Event #7 at Lake McMurtry has come and gone and just like that only one trail event remains. McMurtry had the recipe for a tough event: lots of rain, low water temps, and muddy water. However, OKA anglers always impress and catch the fish needed to fill a limit. One angler in particular always catches the fish that matter and that angler is Jason Ray. Ray who is in the lead for AOY and earlier this season won OKA Event #3 OKIE Road Runner has established himself as the angler to beat going into the season finale September 19th, on Lake Tenkiller.  Jason Ray who resides in Stillwater fishes Sooner Lake for fun and for online events knew this tournament might be hit and miss for some anglers as well as himself.
